Anne Hurley-Cole, soprano soloist and private voice instructor, has 35
years of experience giving singing lessons and teaching the speaking voice to teenage
and adult students in her studio in Fairfax, Virginia. Anne has taught vocal health
workshops in the Loudoun County Public Schools and served as a voice clinician at
Chantilly High School. She was president of the National Association of Teachers of
Singing for Virginia and was Minister of Music at Epiphany UMC in Vienna for fourteen
years.
Anne also provides custom-designed and on-site vocal health workshops, voice clinics, and
communication seminars for businesses, schools, universities and private groups. Her Exploring
the Healthy Voice is a specially-designed course for public speakers, lawyers,
teachers and anyone wishing to improve the quality of their speech. |

Anne trained at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania and at The
Britten-Pears School in Aldeburgh, England. She was on the faculty of West Liberty State
College and Bethany College in West Virginia where she was guest artist with the Wheeling
Symphony and performed with the Boris Goldovsky Opera Workshop.
Anne continues to study under the direction of internationally-known performers and
teachers, including Ruth Drucker, Dr. Thomas Houser, and Elaine Summers (Kinetic Awareness). Anne has
presented recitals in the United States and Canada, and performs with her husband,
violinist Robert Cole, in concerts in the Washington D.C. area. In 2008, Anne performed in
Elaine Summers' presentation, Hidden Forest, at the Lincoln Center in New York
City. |
